DR. WILLIAM SHAW Dr. William E. Shaw About The Doctor Dr. William E. Shaw is a Wisconsin native, born in 1949.  He graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  Dr. Shaw completed his dental education at Northwestern University in Chicago.  He served as a dentist in the U.S. Army from        1975-1978, stationed in West Germany.  He has been in private practice in Fond du Lac since 1978.  Dr. Shaw has been married to his wife, Karen, since 1975. Dr. Shaw is a member and Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), an organization of general dentists who are dedicated to professional development and continuing education.  All AGD members must remain current with advances in the profession to provide quality patient treatment.  A general dentist who is a "Fellow" in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and an example to other dentists of the importance of quality and continuing dental education to patient care.  Other professional organizations William E. Shaw belongs to include the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Chicago Dental Society, Fond du Lac Dental Society where he was a past president and LD Pankey Alumni Association. OUR CARING STAFF Assistants Mary & Toni Our staff has been selected for their caring, friendly attitudes as well as their highly qualified technical skills.  We understand the needs of our patients and take great pride in our work.  Feel free to ask anyone for assistance.  We are all here to serve you. Our dental assistants, Mary and Toni, can answer any questions you may have regarding your treatment and procedures involved with your treatment. Mary has worked for Dr. Shaw since 1996.  She heads our assisting team under the direction of Dr. Shaw.  She continues her education through courses on current and new technologies. Toni was recently added to our assisting team in September 2006.  She comes to us with experience working in a dental practice in the Fox Valley. Hygienists Bev & Julie During routine dental visits you will meet Julie or Bev, our dental hygienists.  They will evaluate and inform you of your gum health, provide treatment and instruction to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums. Julie's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health Dental Hygiene and an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.  Having worked for a periodontal specialist for several years in Minnesota, she has expanded her skills and knowledge in areas of diagnosing and treating gum disease and in maintaining healthy gum tissue. Bev is a Marquette University Alumni, graduating in 1977 with her Dental Hygiene Degree.  Professionally, she grows and continues to challenge herself through educational opportunities every year. Office Manager Susan Susan, our Office Manager, can answer insurance questions and help you with payment options as well as schedule any necessary appointments. Susan has had two years of business training prior to joining our staff in 1995.  She seeks new ways to better serve our patients by continuing her education in business and communication courses.  Her business skills not only benefit the office, but the patients as well. A further assurance that you will receive quality care is the commitment by every one of our practitioners to continuing education.  We are always aware of and trained in the latest advancements in order to deliver the best dental care to you and your family.
