Orthodontics (Braces)

Braces are a very reliable way to improve the appearance of your smile.  This improvement may affect more than just your appearance as it can make you feel more attractive and more confident.  Malocclusion can affect the way a person looks, talks, and chews.  Teeth can be moved by orthodontic treatment at any age, but some treatments are more effective when one is yournger.  Adult patients can bery often get the same results as child patients, but in some instances the treatment will take longer.  Dr. Shaw can show you options for your particular circumstances.

THE CLEAR ALTERNATIVE TO BRACES

Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-molded to fit you.  The virtually invisible aligners gradually reposition your teeth into a smile you'll be proud of with the convenience to remove your aligners to eat, brush and floss.  No metal wires or bands to irritate your mouth, and best of all, most people won't notice you're in treatment.

It's easy to see if you're a candidate for Invisalign treatment.  Dr. Shaw can give you an overview of how Invisalign works, evaluate your situation, and answer you questions.

Conventional orthodontics are very strong and can withstand most types of treatment.  Most traditional metal braces require an elastic o-shaped rubber band, to hold the arch wire onto the bracket.  Metal brackets tend to be less expensive than other types of brackets.  In addition, the bands are available in a rainbow of colors the children love.
